Recently, a collaborative paper titled Exploration of the Conceptual System of Traditional Chinese Economic Thought co-authored by Professor Lin Cheng from the Department of Economic History, along with doctoral student Bo Duan from the class of 2020 and doctoral graduate Liu Ningshuang from the class of 2018, has been officially published in the top-tier journal in the field of philosophy and social sciences, Social Sciences in China.

The conceptual system of traditional Chinese economic thought, as an important carrier for expressing and inheriting ancient economic ideas, serves as the gene pool for constructing an independent Chinese economic knowledge system. This conceptual system covers at least 17 categories of economic thought in breadth and has delved into the core elements of modern economic research in depth, forming a semantically interconnected network with inherent logical connections. Based on three generation mechanisms of Chinese word formation, temporal and spatial transformation, and multiple orientations, this conceptual system exhibits unique, contemporary, and hierarchical characteristics. Currently, promoting the modern transformation of traditional Chinese economic thought concepts by adhering to the two combinations will provide important insights for advancing Chinese-style modernization, constructing an independent Chinese economic knowledge system, and building a modern civilization of the Chinese nation.
