Recently, Tilburg University released its latest Worldwide Economics Schools Research Ranking based on research contribution. According to the statistics, for the year 2012, in terms of publication quantity in the default 32 leading international economics journals, SUFE ranks 1st among all the universities in the Greater China region (including Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), 6th in Asia, and 61st worldwide, on par with some renowned universities in the world. In terms of publication quantity in the 70 major economics journals, SUFE ranks 1st in Mainland China, 5th in Asia and 65th worldwide. With regard to the 2008-2012 overall research ranking, SUFE has risen to 7th in Asia and 115th in the world.
In recent years, with a global vision, SOE at SUFE has explored innovative ways to aggressively improve internationalized research and teaching. By virtue of unconventional overseas recruitment of talents, pioneer implementation of tenure system, and active international academic exchange and cooperation, we have achieved significant international-oriented disciplinary development. Since 2005, SUFE faculty have published nearly 400 papers in major economics journals, including American Economic Review, Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, etc. As of September 2013, SOE has had about 30 articles published or accepted for publication, which will contribute to the further rise of SUFE ranking in research for the year 2013.
Tilburg University Economics Schools Research Ranking provides a standard worldwide Top 100 ranking of economics schools based on publications in a subset of the journals in the database. The source of the information used in this ranking is the ISI Web of Knowledge. This ranking was first released in 2010 and is becoming a widely acknowledged research index for many economics research institutions.
