On July 22, the inauguration ceremony of Collaborative Innovation Center for Economic Theory and Practice was held at the administration building of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. It is the first collaborative innovation center for economics in China, which is jointly founded by SOE at SUFE, the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University and the Research Institute of Economics and Management at Southwest University of Finance and Economics under the support of SUFE, Tsinghua University and Southwest University of Finance and Economics.
Deputy Director Xianchun Xu of the National Bureau of Statistics of China and Deputy Director Yonghua Song of the Human Resource Division of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee attended the ceremony and unveiled the center. Present at the ceremony were also Party Secretary Gang Lu of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Executive Vice President Xiaoman Chen of Fudan University, Vice President Wen Hai of Peking University, Party Secretary Zhonghua Zhang of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Deputy Party Secretary Bing Ou of Southwest University of Finance and Economics, President Qiao Wang of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Party Secretary Shuchen Hao of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Executive Vice President Xuejin Zuo of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Vice President Guijun Lin of University of International Business and Economics, deans and experts from over 30 schools of economics and management around the country, as well as faculty members and graduate students from over one hundred colleges and universities. The ceremony was presided over by SUFE President Liming Fan. SUFE Party Secretary Shuhai Cong, Vice President Hongwei Wang and Vice President Zhongfei Zhou also attended the ceremony. The distinguished guests all expressed their congratulations to the founding of the center and expected it would make remarkable progress in serving the national economic transition to achieve economic theory innovation and disciplinary development.
Following the inauguration ceremony, the party secretaries, presidents, deans of economics and management schools from over 30 universities and the special-term experts of the "Thousand Talents Program" attended the Presidents' Forum and Round-table Meeting respectively. They exchanged viewpoints on how to vigorously promote the introduction and cultivation of high-level innovative talents under the new situation.
