The 11^th CEAC Opening Ceremony Held at SUFE

On Dec.10, the 11th China Economics Annual Conference (CEAC) Opening Ceremony was held at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). Present at the opening ceremony were Shanghai Vice Mayor Guangshao Tu, Deputy Director Xianchun Xu of the National Bureau of Statistics, SUFE President Min Tan, the CEAC President Wen Hai, Honorary President Ji Liu of China European International Business School, President Xiao Qin of Boyuan Foundation, President Shuguang Zhang of Academic Committee of Unirule Institute of Economics, Deputy Director Xiaomin Shi of China Society of Economic Reform, Dean Francis T. LUI of the Department of Economics of the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, representatives of the 13 associations of CEAC as well as over 1000 experts, scholars and students from all over the country. SUFE Vice President Shuhai Cong presided over the opening ceremony.

The 11th China Economics Annual Conference is co-organized by the CEAC Secretariat and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and held by the School of Economics and Institute for Advanced Research. The annual conference has been held 10 times in China since its inception at Peking University in October 2001. With the theme "China's Economic Transformation under the Changing World Landscape", the 11th CEAC aims to provide theoretical and policy inspiration for the better development of China's economy under the changing world landscape. The Conference provides an excellent exchange platform for Chinese economic studies.

At the opening ceremony, SUFE President Min Tan, CEAC President Wen Hai, and Shanghai Vice Mayor Guangshao Tu delivered speeches successively. President Tan pointed out the significance of this CEAC theme, while President Hai made an overview of the achievements CEAC had made in the past decade and looked into the two research areas demanding further efforts in the next decade. In his speech, Vice Mayor Guangshao Tu spoke highly of the significant contribution CEAC had been making and the important role CEAC had been playing in promoting the steady development and successful transformation of the Chinese economy.

Honorary President Ji Liu of China European International Business School and President Xiao Qin of Boyuan Foundation delivered speeches entitled "China's Economic and Education Reforms" and "The Modern Enterprise Theory and the Management of Chinese Enterprises" respectively. In the forum afterwards, Deputy Director Xianchun Xu of the National Bureau of Statistics, President Shuguang Zhang of the Academic Committee of Unirule Institute of Economics and Deputy Director Xiaomin Shi of China Society of Economic Reform also gave keynote speeches.

Following the opening ceremony of the 11th CEAC, various activities such as themed forum, academic reports and book fairs were organized to provide channels for academic communication.
