On January 8, 2010, Dr. James Bullard, President and Chief Executive Officer of Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis visited SUFE and met with SUFE CPC Committee Secretary Qingrong Ma, SUFE International Exchange Office Director Yamin Jin and SOE Senior Associate Dean Yonggang Hu. Chairman Ma extended his cordial welcome to Pres. Bullard and expressed his sincere hope for further academic communication in the future.
After the meeting, Pres. Bullard delivered a public lecture themed "Global Recovery and the Role of Asset Price Bubbles" at the SUFE administration building to scholars, faculty and students, which also attracted many overseas students. He gave a vivid and convincing description of the global recovery with various data and tables, and analyzed the role of asset price bubbles in a systematic way. His talk aroused animated discussions in the following Q & A session.
