Up to Oct. 29, 2009, a total number of 43 SOE students have received admission notice from such renowned universities overseas as Stanford University, Columbia University, Cornell University, University of Michigan, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of British Columbia, Canada, etc. Among them, 16 are from SOE's graduate program and 27 are from SOE's undergraduate program. The number of students studying abroad this year increases significantly, reaching a record high over the years.
For recent years, SOE has been dedicated to international-oriented undergraduate and graduate programs, featured by first-class faculty recruited from renowned overseas universities, quality students who have a solid mathematics and economics background with outstanding analytical skills and creative thinking, as well as innovative cultivation mode comparable to those adopted in major western universities with a unique bilingual teaching environment. As a result, our programs facilitate the assimilation of Chinese students into the academic programs of overseas universities and inspire them to achieve their full potential. For instance, Mingjun Xiao, an outstanding Ph.D. student in the integrated M.A.-Ph.D. program, has received admission notice from Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University, New York University with full scholarship.
