On May 26, a seminar on talent cultivation hosted by Prof. Chunrong Ai, Executive Associate Dean of the Institute for Advanced Research was held at SOE. Prof. Jijun Xia, Associate Dean of SOE and all the faculty members of the Quantitative Economics Teaching-Research Section attended the seminar.
The discussion at the seminar centered on curriculum design, teaching syllabus, talent cultivating mode, source of student, etc. for the undergraduate, graduate, and unified master-PhD program respectively. Faculty members attended exchanged their views and put forward constructive advice on how to optimize curriculum design, take full advantage of the teaching and research strength of the Quantitative Economics Section, further improve the recruiting system, further refine and unify the syllabus, coordinate with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics on course arrangements, bring the role of education into full play, reform the talent cultivating mode, etc. The seminar served as a good platform for idea communication and synthesizing.
