Recently, the China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC) of the Ministry of Education announced the list of approved 2025 Theme Case Projects. Shanghai University of Finance and Economics secured 5 approvals in total. Among them, the case led by Associate Professor Yue Xiangyu from the School of Economics, No-Code Supervised Fine-Tuning and the Advancement of AI Literacy: A Human-AI Co-creation Case Based on the “AI + Venture Capital” Course, was selected under the AI Plus theme.

Developed around the cutting-edge elective course Venture Capital and Private Equity for Master of Financial Econometrics students, this project marks a key initiative of the School to deepen the integration of “AI Plus” into finance education and revamp talent training models.

The 2025 Theme Case Call by CDGDC covered four major themes: modern industrial system, AI Plus, cultural innovation, and global outreach. After rigorous review, 906 projects were funded, including 286 under the AI Plus track. Aligned with the trend of AI Plus empowering the development of new quality productive forces, this case is built upon authentic teaching scenarios of the Venture Capital and Private Equity course. It innovatively applies low-threshold no-code supervised fine-tuning to core teaching modules of venture capital, including project screening, valuation modelling and risk identification. The case establishes a human-AI co-creation teaching framework of “theory–tool–practice”, cultivating students’ capacity to tackle complex real-world financial problems with AI tools. It offers a replicable and scalable teaching template to lift the AI literacy of professional postgraduate students majoring in financial econometrics.

Case development serves as a critical lever to advance reforms in professional postgraduate training and strengthen industry-university-research integration. In response to national strategic priorities and the university’s development roadmap, the School of Economics has proactively explored the interdisciplinary frontier of “AI + Economics” and encouraged faculty to integrate cutting-edge technologies and industrial practice into curriculum design and case development. This latest approval demonstrates tangible progress in digitally empowered curriculum building and high-quality teaching resource development. Moving forward, the School will continue to leverage high-level case construction to strengthen postgraduates’ problem-solving capabilities in economics and finance, refine interdisciplinary curricula and teaching models, and nurture top-tier innovative talents suited for the digital era.
